Ingredients
- 1 package (12 ounces) vanilla wafers
- 5 teaspoons instant coffee granules, divided. Kahlua can be substituted for the coffee.
- 3 tablespoons hot water
- 4 (8 ounces each) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Cool Whip
- 1 tablespoon cocoa
Method
Step 1
Layer half of wafers in greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish.
Step 2
Dissolve 2 teaspoons coffee granules in 2 tablespoons hot water. Brush waters with half of coffee. Set remaining mixture aside.
Step 3
In a large bowl beat cream cheese, sugar and sour cream. Add eggs. Beat on low speed. Divide batter in half.
Step 4
Dissolve remaining granules in remaining hot water. Stir into one portion of batter. Spread over wafers. Layer with remaining wafers. Brush with reserved coffee mixture. Top with remaining batter.
Step 5
Bake at 325° for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Carefully run a knife around edge of dish to loosen. Cool 1 hour longer. Refrigerate overnight. Spread with whipped topping. Dust with cocoa. Refrigerate until serving.
