Ingredients
- 4-5 pounds pork spareribs
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon chili power
Method
Step 1
Cut ribs into serving pieces. Place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake uncovered at 350° for 1 hour. Or, seal ribs in air tight food-grade bags and sous vide at 150° for 15-24 hours.
Step 2
In a medium pan, saute onion and celery in margarine for 5 minutes, or until tender. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cook and stir until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
Step 3
Drain fat from roasting pan. Pour sauce over ribs.
Step 4
Bake 1-1/2 hours longer until meat is tender.
