Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg, separated
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup pecans, chopped and divided
Method
Step 1
Cream together butter and sugar. Add vanilla and egg yolk, beating until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, salt and cinnamon. Blend with half of pecans and stir into creamed mixture.
Step 2
Press batter into a greased 19x15-in. pan. Brush top of batter with lightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with remaining pecans on top.
Step 3
Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Cut while still warm into squares.
