Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 30 raisins

Method

Step 1

Blend butter, 2/3 cup sugar and egg. Sift try ingredients together. Stir into butter mixture, blending well. Add milk and vanilla. Chill for 2 to 3 hours.

Step 2

Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets, six to a sheet. Sprinkle tops with remaining granulated sugar. Center a raisin on each cookie.

Step 3

Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
