Ingredients

  • 2 large cans (29 ounces each) sliced peaches, drained
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Ingredients (topping)

1-1/2 cup flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/3 cup butter or margarine

1 egg

1/4 cup milk (may need to use a little more)

1 tablespoon sugar

Method

Step 1

Mix first 4 ingredients and put into a 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish.

Step 2

For topping mix flour and baking powder. Cut in butter until it resembles crumbs. Mix egg and milk and add to flour mixture. Drop by tablespoon onto peaches. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes, until top is golden brown.
