Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 or 2 eggs
  • 1-1/4 cup raisins
  • 3/4 cup milk

Method

Step 1

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Beat eggs and milk together and add with the cool melted butter. Add to the dry ingredients and mix by hand or with mixer.

Step 2

Stir in raisins.

Step 3

Pour into a greased 9x5-in loaf pan and bake at 350° for 45 to 60 minutes.

Step 4

Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to wire rack. Serve with butter, cream cheese, or jam.
