Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/3 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
Ingredients (icing)
1/3 cup confectioners’ sugar
2-1/4 teaspoons milk
1/8 teaspoon rum extract or 1 teaspoon dark rum
Method
Step 1
Combine first 6 ingredients. Cut in butter. Add raisins. Mix milk and syrup together. Add to crumb mixture until moistened.
Step 2
Turn onto a floured surface. Knead 8-10 times. Roll out to 1/2-in. thickness. Cut with floured cutter or rim of a glass. Place 1-in. apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 12-15 minutes.
Step 3
Combine icing ingredients. Drizzle over biscuits.
