Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup celery, chopped
- 3/4 teaspoon salt, divided
- 1 pound ground beef
- 8-12 slices toast, depending on the size of your baking dish and how big the bread is, buttered on both sides
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Method
Step 1
Brown beef in a skillet with mustard, onion, celery and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Drain. Place half of toast in a casserole dish. Top with hamburger mixture, then cheese. Place remaining toast on top.
Step 2
Mix milk, dry mustard, 1/4 teaspoon salt and egg. Pour over toast Bake at 350° for 30 minutes..
