Ingredients
- 1/2 pound bacon, diced
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 can (28 ounces) pork & beans
- 1 can (17 ounces) lima beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspon chili powder
Method
Step 1
In a large skillet, cook bacon, beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain and transfer to a greased 2-1/2 quart baking dish or crock pot.
Step 2
Add all of the beans and mix well. In a small bowl combine remaining ingredients and stir into the beef and bean mixture.
Step 3
Cover and bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more. Or cook in crock pot on high for 1-2 hours, then remove cover and cook on low for 15 minutes more. Or cook on low for 4-5 hours.
