Ingredients (filling)
1 pound pitted dates, cut fine
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1-3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup walnut pieces
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup butter, melted
Method
Step 1
For filling, boil ingredients until smooth
Step 2
Mix well oats, flour, baking soda, salt, walnuts, sugar and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter. Pat half of mixture into bottom of a shallow greased 9x9-in. or 9x13-in. pan. Spread with date filling. Cover with remaining dough mixture. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.
