- 1/2 cup margarine
- 6 tablespoons sugar, divided
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 cup flour
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Method
Step 1
Cream butter, 4 tablespoons sugar, cocoa, vanilla and salt until fluffy. Gradually stir in flour until blended.
Step 2
Divide dough into quarters. With lightly floured hands roll each into an 18-in. rope. Place ropes parallel to each other and cut crosswise into 2-in. pieces. Brush top with egg.
Step 3
Mix nuts and remaining sugar. Press mixture into tops of logs. Arrange 1-in. apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
