Ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 pinch fresh ground black pepper
- Dash of crushed red pepper or hot pepper sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon sweet basil
- 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
- 12 cherrystone clams, coursely chopped, or use 1 6 oz. can but Dad would not approve
- 1/2 pound of pasta, cooked and drained
Method
Step 1
Warm the olive oil in a saucepan. Add butter and simmer until butter melts. Add parsley, basil, garlic, cheese, red and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then add clams with their liquid. Bring to a boil again. Serve hot, immediately over linguine or other pasta of your choice.
