Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2-1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • Confectioners' sugar, optional

Method

Step 1

Heat butter and brown sugar until sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool a bit so you don't cook the eggs when you mix them in the next step.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix eggs, vanilla and sugar mixture.

Step 3

Combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add to sugar mixture. Stir in pecans.

Step 4

Spread into greased or parchment lined 13x9-in. pan. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Cool. Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired.
