Ingredients

  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package frozen or 2 cups fresh asparagus, cut into pieces and cooked
  • 2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 10 cups cubed bread

Method

Step 1

In a large bowl beat eggs. Add milk, mustard, basil and salt. Gently stir in remaining ingredients until well mixed. Pour into a 13x9-in baking dish.

Step 2

Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Remove 30 minutes before baking. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
