Ingredients
- 1 pound sirloin tips cut into 1-in cubes (It is hard to find sirloin tips outside of New England. You can use a sirloin tip roast or tri-tip and cut it up)
- 2-3 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1-1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 can golden mushroom soup
- 1/2 to 1 cup white wine or beef broth
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- cooked egg noodles, pasta or rice
Method
Step 1
Combine first 6 ingredients in crock pot. You can season it more if you like. I usually add a little rosemary.
Step 2
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours until meat is tender.
Step 3
Mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Gradually stir into pot. Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes. Serve over pasta or rice.
To reduce carbs replace the soup with a few fresh mushrooms and use broth instead of wine. Leave out or reduce the carrots. Do not thicken the sauce.
