Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 ounces) large tube pasta such as ziti or rigatoni
  • 1 egg
  • 1 container (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1-1/2 jars (28 ounces each) spaghetti sauce of your choice

Method

Step 1

Cook pasta according to package directions to al dente. Drain and set aside to partially cool.

Step 2

In a large bowl mix egg, ricotta, half of the mozzarella and half of the Parmesan, seasonings, and 1 cup of sauce.

Step 3

Add pasta to cheese mixture and stir until evenly coated.

Step 4

Spread 1 cup of sauce in bottom of a 13x9-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Top with half of pasta mixture, then 1-1/2 cups of sauce and half of remaining cheeses. Top with remaining pasta, then remaining cheeses and sauce.

Step 5

Cover and bake at 375° for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.

This can be assembled the day before baking. It can also be frozen before baking, but add extra sauce to keep it from drying out. Bake from frozen, covered and add 15 minutes.
