Ingredients
- 8 cups pared diced apples
- 3/4 cup sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3/4 cup sifted flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method
Step 1
Sprinkle apples with cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar. Put in a 9-in. baking pan. Cover tightly with foil and bake at 450° for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile cream butter and sugar. Add flour, baking powder, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well. Put in daubs on top of apples and bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes until top is lightly browned.
