Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pound jar mixed candied fruits
  • 1 cup white (golden) raisins
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts, if desired

Method

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, flour and candied fruit. Add raisins alternately with milk. Add nuts. Last add baking powder (it's important you add this last).

Step 2

Pour into 2 (?) greased 8-in. x 4-in. loaf pans. Bake at 300° for 70 minutes.
