Ingredients (cake)

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup margarine

4 eggs

1 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

16 ounces Hershey’s syrup

Ingredients (filling)

2 cups confectioners’ sugar

1/2 cup margarine

2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon green creme de menthe

Ingredients (icing)

6 ounces chocolate chips

6 tablespoons margarine

Method

Step 1

Cream margarine. Add sugar and blend until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Beat in vanilla and Hershey's syrup. Mix dry ingredients together and add to mixture. Mix well. Pour into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. It's ok if the top of the brownies look wet. Cool on a wire rack.

Step 2

For filling, cream sugar and margarine. Stir in creme de menthe. Spread over cooled brownies. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until chilled.

Step 3

Melt chocolate chips and margarine. If it's too thick to spread, add a little milk or cream. Carefully spread over chilled cake. Chill until serving. Refrigerate leftovers.
