Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1-1/2 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract or Amaretto
- 3 cups flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 1 can (21 ounces) cherry fruit filling/pie filling
Ingredients (streusel)
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
Method
Step 1
Combine first 3 streusel ingredients. Cut in butter until crumbly. Set aside.
Step 2
Cream butter and sugar. Beat eggs and add to butter mixture. Add extract.
Step 3
Combine flour and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Divide batter evenly into 2 9-in. pans. Spread filling on top. Sprinkle streusel topping over cherry filling. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes.
